Fulham v Manchester City Preview

Table of Contents

Title chasing Manchester City travel to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

This could be a pivotal match, as three points for the visitors would see them overtake Arsenal into top spot and put Pep Guardiola’s men firmly in pole position to snatch the title from under Mikel Arteta’s nose.

For Fulham, this has already been a very good season. Marco Silva has steered his side well away from the relegation battle, but their season looks to be petering out now as results and performances begin to fluctuate.

In what is a key game in the fight for this season’s Premier League title, we’ll provide a detailed match preview and give you some suggested bets that we hope can land you a decent win. Read on to find out more.

Juggernaut

Before the World Cup began, it looked like this was going to be a disappointing season for Manchester City. Since the return from the break, they have been nothing short of phenomenal. With just one defeat in their last 21 games in all competitions, they’ve reached juggernaut status.

Since the turn of the new year, their incredible form has firmly kept the pressure on leaders Arsenal. Even when the Gunners had an eight point lead, City didn’t give up and now have the chance to take top spot for themselves.

Head to head

The head to head record for these two clubs does not read well for Fulham fans at all. The Cottagers haven’t beaten the Manchester club since April 2009. Looking at City right now, it’s unlikely that the run is going to end here.

In the last five meetings between these teams, City have won them all, scoring 15 and conceding just two. You could go as far as to say that City have become somewhat of a bogey team for Fulham in recent decades.

Incredible goalscorers

This Manchester City side is full of attacking threats. None more so than the Norwegian goalscoring machine Erling Haaland, who continues to find the back of the net in his quest to win the Golden Boot in his debut Premier League season.

His teammates haven’t been shy about chipping in, either. This has resulted in some eye popping score lines this season including 7-0 and 6-0 victories. They’ve also won seven of their last eight games by three goals or more.

One sided affair

going to be another one sided affair. That could be the case, but City have struggled most on the road this season.

Fulham’s form is a bit inconsistent and without Mitrovic, it’s difficult to tell what kind of performance they will put up. However, it’s likely they’ll very quickly be trying to exercise damage control once City score their first.

Suggested bets

  • Erling Haaland to Score First
  • Manchester City to Win & BTTS
  • Over 3.5 Goals
  • 4-1 Correct Score
